You are dead to me.
You are passed out naked on my couch to me.
Did it piss you off that J.J. Abrams removed a lot of the philosophical themes and Star Trek and turned it into a big action franchise? I'm not even much of a Star Trek fan but it sure did piss me off.
I think the latest film actually does live up to the Star Trek tradition of challenging the status quo, since it’s attitude towards terrorism is that we should not seek vengeance. We should not react with anger and fear and lose all sense of who we are. That’s a message that America really needs to hear, and most big summer blockbusters deliver the exact opposite. Also, I was really happy to see male characters displaying emotions other than anger. Even the villain sheds a tear. This isn’t presented as unmanly. And let’s not forget that, even if it is an action movie, it’s an action movie where the actor playing the hero in the final epic battle is openly gay. So, I think they did Roddenberry proud.
What's your opinion of Star Trek Into Darkness?
Loved it. Way better than the previous film.
If god were to appear tomorrow and announce that the LGBT community were his true chosen people how would the world respond?
The Westboro Baptist Church would demand God’s impeachment.
What are your views on Joe Biden's idea, and I say idea because no one will listen to Joe Biden without laughing, to tax video games that he considers violent. Not just violent video games, which is still stupid to begin with, but any game with violent content in it?
Why even ask my opinion on such a clearly stupid idea?
You should answer this question because I'm a privileged white guy who whines about the smallest thing that doesn't go my way
I don't get it. Merida looks the same as before, just rendered in 2D art.
Bullshit. Her waist is smaller, her Scottish facial features have been smoothed away, her hair has been defrizzed, she’s been put in a dress that she would fucking despise. They turned her into a fucking Barbie doll. That’s not what that character is about.
hey, maybe you could give your opinion and take on the " Amy's bakery & bistro" thing from kitchen nightmares that have been BLOWING UP this week on facebook and youtube. personally i think the owners of this restuarant are fucking disgusting and stupid. maybe you could have some fun with it? i like your stuff, keep it going!
I actually did a 15 minute review of that very episode on my lesser-known channel: http://YouTube.com/TJDoesLife
TJ, what's your view on the 'redesign' of Merida by Disney, the backlash by women's rights groups and removal of the offending artwork?
I was on the side of the feminists on that one. That “new Merida” was a fucking travesty.
