Defying belief.

forgetting for a second that batman owes gotham jack shit, dont you think batman fails as a hero in a major way because he wont kill people? he does it because he dosent want to become what he battles, but wouldnt a true hero become a monster, throwing away his beliefs and moral system so that he can save more innocents?

Is Batman’s chief concern the protection of innocents? Or is it the establishment of order? I think it is the latter. I think Batman detests chaos and wants to see society prosper. His parents’ deaths only happened because of failure on a societal level. Batman does not only want to save innocent people on a case by case basis, he is also trying to systemically root out the causes, while also recognizing the urgency of dealing with the symptoms as they come.
